Adding on!
I have been playing around with the layout of my blog a little and have added a sidebar about quotes from my kids. Just little things they pop up with, usually when I least expect it! I'll be adding to it as they come up with more of these!
You know you are an adult.......
...when you are ECSTATIC to get new carpet! We got some a few weeks ago and I STILL get excited when I look at and/or walk barefoot on it! We timed it for when the kids would be at my parent's house for their week of Bible School. I enjoyed my days of kid free time, although it was mostly taken up by moving furniture, tearing up carpet to prepare for the new stuff and then putting my house back in order when it was done! My husband made a little video to show you the before (the empty house waiting for new carpet) and the after. It was a little eerie to walk through the house with no furniture or carpet, just cement floors, because everything echoed!

All the furniture and stuff from the rooms had to be put somewhere else, obviously, so we left our vehicles out of the garage and everything got put in there. We have a large two car garage but I guess we have a ton of stuff cause it was pretty full!
Here we are working hard on taking out the old carpet. I never realized how much dirt gets UNDER the carpet! And its also very icky to see all the stain marks on the pad and underside of the carpet!

The 4th was a Blast!
Our 4th of July was busy and fun! We celebrated for three days. The actual 4th was spent with my family at my cousin Bart's, where we played volleyball and Uno, ate a lot, had a campfire and finished off the night with an impressive fireworks show by Bart himself! Tanessa had some crafts for the kids and they loved them! Thanks for your effort Tanessa!
The hats that Tanessa had them make. I know Ali doesn't look so thrilled with it in this picture, but she really did have fun making it!
On Saturday we went to my good friend Amanda's house to meet her friends from college and it was a good time! The following picture is courtesy of my husband's mischievousness. We were supposed to be nicely lined up, all holding sparklers for a good 4th of July picture. However, to the suprise of most, my husband also lit an actual firework and tossed it behind us. Hence the explosion as the picture was snapped. Most thought it was funny, some not so much!
Sunday, we gathered at my mom and dad's for a belated Mother's/Father's Day bash. Dad had some firework's left tho so we made that part of the fun.
Ali found a comfy place to watch Daddy and Grandpa do fireworks
Dakota decided to watch where he couldn't hear them - thru the window! And if you tried to open the window even a crack he would freak out and push it back down!
Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

Every Thursday morning the kids get so excited to watch for the garbage truck as it comes to pick up our trash!
